July 17th – Hitchcock’s Hideaway – Come to Hitchcock’s Hideaway for an evening of Celtic entertainment! Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the entertainment starting at 7:15 p.m. Featuring performances by: Ken Eller on Highland Pipes, Alan Walters on Highland & Small Pipes, John Fisher on Snare Drum, Back of the Bus, a terrific Saskatchewan Celtic Band. Also take part in the Silent Auction! Admission is at the door: Adults $10, Ages 5 – 12 $5. There will be a licensed cash bar. Proceeds from this event will go to the Lake Diefenbaker Pipe Band School Inc. For more information, call Rauncie Kinnaird at 306-249-2939.
July 19th – Macrorie – Come out for the 5th Annual Macrorie Music Medley. Held at the Macrorie Sports Grounds. The gates open at 2:30 p.m. and the entertainment will begin at 3:00 p.m. Listen to the sounds of: Old Country (McConnells), Kakos, Jana Cranston, Fragile Transit, Rory Allen (Tribute to the King) and the Versatiles. Tickets are $20/each; $60/Family; 10 & under are free. All minors must be accompanied by a parent. There will be a food concession and licensed beer gardens on site. In the event of rain, performances will be held in the Community Hall.

Take part in the 22nd Annual Wind & Water Weekend!
Sebastian Bubmann, one of the world’s top kiteboarders, all the way from Germany, will be putting on a kiteboarding show this weekend at Elbow!
This event is organized by the Saskatchewan Windsurf club as a weekend of sportsmanship and family fun for all ages. Activities will include an adventure race (swim, bike, run), windsurfing, kiteboarding, and the famous sacrifice to the wind gods ceremony held at the beach party Saturday night. A beachside hot tub and big top tent will also figure into the festivities as well!
Flysurfer dealers, representatives, and instructors from across the prairies will be available with demo gear and introductory kiteboarding clinics for anyobody interested in the sport. Boat support will be available. If conditions are favorable, a course race will be set up.
All this excitement will take place at Tufts Bay campground at Elbow from Friday, June 13th to Sunday, June 15th.

Looking for something to do this weekend?!
The lake has been buzzing with activity for the past couple weeks as summer approaches. If you are looking for something to do this weekend, check this out:
Lake Diefenbaker’s 3rd Annual Relay for Life will be held on Friday, June 6th from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7th. The Relay will take place at Loreburn School. Get involved: Put a team together, volunteer, purchase a luminary, be a team captain, be a sponsor, make a donation or walk the victory lap as a survivor! May Long Weekend!!
Finally……..it’s feeling like spring/summer. The weekends forecast for Lake Diefenbaker is going to be perfect for the first weekend of camping.

May 5th – Fishing Season is Open
Is it your turn?

Last spring, Adam Konrad pulled this 43.6 lb record breaking rainbow trout out of Lake Diefenbaker.
Fishing season is now open. Angling Licences can be purchased from vendors around the region for $29.44. Other licences such as 3 day and non-resident licences can be purchased as well. For more information, please contact the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment at 306-787-2847. Please pick up a copy of the 2008 Saskatchewan Anglers guide to learn the angling limits and fishing regulations for Lake Diefenbaker.

It’s May 1st……….
and activity around the lake is starting to pick up! Fishing season starts May 3rd. The Provincial Parks are currently open with reduced services. If you are planning on camping in any of these Parks, please be sure to use the self-registration; enjoy your stay! Our Regional Parks will be open for the May Long Weekend.
Can you believe that this is all just around the corner.
